Have we seen the end of de-industrialisation in France? For two consecutive quarters, namely, Q2 and Q3 2016, the net balance between the launch and closure of industrial sites was positive according to the jobs and investment section of French business intelligence firm, Trendeo. This is a first since 2009. It would seem that new technologies such as the internet of things, artificial intelligence, virtualisation, and big data are driving transformation in manufacturing plants across France.
